SPOILERS AHEAD! READ WITH CAUTION.

Team Bros, you’re awesome. Team Doctors, you’re getting on my nerves.

The sixth leg of Amazing Race Canada brought out the best — and the worst — of the remaining five teams. Last week, we saw see some sinister personalities ooze through when Team Body Break (Hal and Joanne) went head-to-head with Team Doctors (Holly and Brett) in a cutthroat, f-word fuelled show-down that ultimately sent Team Body Break home.

Give me a minute to compose myself here … I still can’t believe Team Body Break is gone. I had my money on them to win.

If you didn’t already hate Team Doctors from last week, you surely began to despise them this week. They continued to crack under pressure, revealing more annoyingly whiney personalities. Aren’t they supposed to be level-headed, life saving pediatricans?

Oppositely, Team Bros (Jet and Dave) revealed themselves to be pretty cool guys. They’re becoming more and more likeable thanks to their good humour, jokes and happy-go-lucky personalities. Also, their last two wins are proving they’re more than heaps of muscle.

The teams took off to Quebec City, Quebec with Jet and Dave leading the way. However, the Bros didn’t get much of a head start since everyone was forced to spend the night at Levis Forts National Historic Site. They did make good use of their lead time, though, by playing a seriously awesome joke on the others. The guys decided to leave a message written in French in a nearby sandbox saying, “Check the cannons.” Cory and Jody fell for the prank when they arrived, frantically running around the grounds searching the cannons. After having a good laugh about it, Jet and Dave let them in on the secret.

“Jody and Cory are so intense, this couldn’t have worked out better,” grinned Dave.

Well played, boys. Well played.

In the morning, teams searched the grounds for their next clue. Jet and Dave took the lead again, while Team Tims lagged behind. The next task involved taking the ferry across the St. Lawrence River to the statue of Samuel de Champlain. There lay a detour, where teams had to tap into their artistic abilities. The task? Sculpt it or spot it. They either had to create an ice sculpture, or decide what items were missing from the replica of a famous mural.

“I can’t even get (ice) cubes out of my tray most the time,” joked Jet. However, two did opt to sculpt a star out of ice. Good choice, too, because they chipped their way to the lead once again.

Team Half Edmonton (Jody and Cory) decided to go for spot it. Ditto with Team Doctors, who bickered their way through the challenge. The two teams remained neck-and-neck throughout the task, with Team Doctors beating the brothers by a few minutes.

Next up was a Road Block at Place de l’Universite du Quebec. Mmm! Crepes were the challenge, and boy did they ever look yummy. Well, some of them. Again, we were presented with the quick quips of Team Bros when Dave remarked that Team Sisters’ mushy, crumpled crepes looked “like a dog’s breakfast.” Ha. Ha ha. Ha ha ha.

Cory of Team Half Edmonton decided to give his wicked chef skills a go. Who would’ve guessed he was a connoisseur of of crepes? He nailed the task from the get-go, but because he didn’t plate ALL FOUR crepes, he kept failing.

I’ll give you one guess who didn’t have fun during this task: Team Doctors. Quel surprise!

The next task required teams to indulge in the Canadian sport of lacrosse by passing the ball to each other and “putting the biscuit in the basket,” as Dave described it. The brothers blitzed through the task, celebrating with hugs/screams/a strip show. What hams!

Team Bros reached the pit stop in first place for the third time, while Team Half Edmonton and Team Doctors wound up in a foot race for the finish and tied in second place. Team Sisters sauntered in in third, while Team Tims reached the checkpoint in last.

Unfortunately, this was a non-elimination leg, and Team Tims once again found their butts saved by fate. Ugh. They so don’t deserve it. I can’t help but wish the last episode was a non-elimination leg. Hopefully the cold will get them next week when they take on Iqaluit, Nunavut.
